SHIPPING & RETURNS

When can I expect my order to arrive?

As a small business that values a slower pace of life, we ship orders twice a week—on Monday's and Friday's. Because of this, please allow up to two weeks from date of purchase for delivery.

If you need your order soon, please select express postage at check out or contact us directly to discuss other options.

How much in postage?

• Within Australia, postage is a flat $10 for parcels under 2kg.
• or orders over 2kg, we offer express postage or local pick-up.
• To help you pick your next adventure: smaller tales usually weigh around 350g, while epic tomes can be closer to 550g.

Do you ship internationally?

At this stage we cannot offer international shipping. As The Bookshop grows, we hope to be able to provide this service so our stories can travel far and wide! 

Can I return an item?

• We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
• Items can be returned if they are in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags and in its original packaging.
• You’ll need to provide the receipt or proof of purchase.

How is my order packaged?

We take great care in packaging your order with both love and sustainability in mind so you can expect your books to arrive safely in eco-friendly materials. Because we reuse and recycle packaging, your order may come in a parcel that’s a little mismatched or jagged around the edges, but always clean, secure, and kinder to the earth

 

OUR BOOKS

Do you sell independently published books?

We sure do! Independently published fantasy is at the heart of what we do. We carefully curate books from Australian and New Zealand indie authors, alongside a selection of traditionally published titles we truly love.

Authors, please note that, due to an overwhelming and exciting response to The Bookshop, we have temporarily closed Expressions of Interest while we review submissions. We encourage you to follow us on social media and sign up to our mailing list to be notified when EOIs reopen.

Are your books new or pre-loved?

We offer a mix of both! Many of our books are carefully curated second-hand treasures, ready to find a new home, and some are brand-new, handpicked straight from Australian authors.

Do you purchase second-hand books?

Yes, we do. If you'd like to sell second-hand books for inclusion in our collection, please tell us a bit about the books you'd like to sell. All submissions are subject to review and approval to ensure books are the right fit for our curated collection.

 

GIFTING

Do you offer gift wrapping?

We’d love to help make your gifts extra special! We offer gift wrapping for a small fee—just add the option to your cart and we’ll make it magical.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes, we offer gift cards so you can share the joy of browsing and discovering magical books with friends and family. Please contact us directly to organise a gift card.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Can I reserve or request a specific book?

We love getting books into readers hands, so please reach out if you're after a specific book. This includes:

• A book you’re looking for is currently out of stock—we’ll notify you when it’s back on the shelves and can reserve a copy.
• There’s a book you're searching for that we don’t carry—we may be able to track it down just for you.

Can I buy books in bulk for a book club or event?

At this stage we cannot offer bulk purchases of the same book as we run a small stock. As The Bookshop evolves, we hope to offer this service.

Do you offer recommendations?

Of course! Our team of book lovers is always happy to help you find your next great read. Get in touch and tell us about your favourite fantasy sub-genres and tropes and we’ll find the perfect book for your next adventure.
