About the Author: Chloe Gong is a Chinese-born New Zealand author known for her Secret Shanghai series. Her debut novel, These Violent Delights, became a New York Times bestseller and won the 2021 Sir Julius Vogel Award for Best Youth Novel. Gong graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in English and International Relations. She was named one of Forbes 30 Under 30 for 2024.
